Connect your own domain so clients access the platform under your brand, not Climbo's.
Where to Find It
Brand, Then the Domain Tab
Go to Brand, then open the Domain tab from the left sidebar. It stays locked until you've finished the initial onboarding.
Changing the domain stays with the Owner. An Admin sees the section and can read everything in it, but Connect and Disconnect open a Domain dialog instead of doing anything: "To change the domain, please contact your account owner at", followed by your email address. Verify DNS still works for them, since it only re-checks the records.
Connecting a domain requires a paid Climbo agency plan. On a free plan the tab is marked with a crown, and pressing Connect opens the Upgrade Your Climbo Plan dialog with Upgrade Plan and Chat on WhatsApp instead of starting the connection.
Until a domain is connected the page shows a red status line: "Without a connected domain, clients won't be able to log in to your platform. Connect it now."
Choosing Your Subdomain and Domain
Subdomain and Domain
Enter the Subdomain and Domain you want your platform to go live on. The fields start pre-filled with `app` and `yourdomain.com`, and a preview underneath shows the full address as you type. Common subdomain choices are app, platform, or dashboard — we recommend app.
You have to use a subdomain — the bare root domain on its own isn't accepted. The domain itself needs to be one you already own. If you don't have one yet, you can register one through any domain provider, such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Hostinger.
Before continuing, make sure the subdomain you've chosen isn't already in use — for example, check that you don't already have another white-label platform installed on it. You can only have one domain connected at a time.
Connect
Once you've entered your subdomain and domain, click Connect. The button changes to Generating DNS and you'll see the warning "Don't leave this page until DNS records are generated". This takes roughly twenty seconds, so stay on the page.
If something is wrong with what you entered, you'll see one of these messages: "Invalid domain provided", "Domain already in use", or "The domain does not exist or is unreachable".
Adding the DNS Records
Read the DNS Record Blocks
After the records are generated, the page shows one DNS Record block per record, each with four fields: Status, Type, Host and Value. Host and Value can be copied with one click.
The first record is a CNAME:
- Host — your chosen subdomain
- Value — the address Climbo gives you (`app.mylocalbusiness.io`)
Add Every Record You See, Not Just the CNAME
A second record, of type TXT, is also generated so that the SSL certificate for your domain can be validated. Add every record shown on the page to your DNS settings — the connection is only considered complete when all of them are active, so skipping the TXT record leaves your domain stuck.
Go to your domain provider, open the DNS settings for your domain, and add each record exactly as shown. Save them with your provider, then return to Climbo.
Verifying the Connection
Verify DNS
Wait a few minutes for the DNS change to propagate, then click Verify DNS. Every record's Status should turn green and read Active, and you'll see "DNS is active and verified".
If it isn't ready yet, you'll see "DNS propagation in progress. This may take a few minutes". Wait a little longer and click Verify DNS again.
A yellow status means a record is still being processed; a red one means it's blocked, inactive, deleted or expired. If the domain still doesn't connect, double-check your records: the Host and Value must match exactly what Climbo showed you.
If you see "We couldn't issue an SSL certificate for this domain", the domain is either mistyped or not properly registered; correct it or try a different one.
What This Domain Is Used For
Client Mode and Agency Mode
Once connected, the page shows two cards. Client Mode is the login page your clients use to access the platform, at your subdomain and domain.
Agency Mode is the same domain with /admin added. This gives your team a white-labeled version of Agency Mode with no Climbo branding visible, and it's the URL you can share with your agency staff. Your agency's default Climbo login URL keeps working as well.
Both cards link straight to the address; until verification is complete you'll see the tooltip "Your domain will be accessible once verification is complete".
Don't Remove the DNS Records
Leave Them In Place
Once the records are set up, don't remove them from your domain provider. Removing them will disconnect your domain from the platform.
If You Really Want to Disconnect
Disconnecting works the other way around: delete the DNS records at your provider first. Then click Disconnect and tick "I confirm the DNS records are removed from my hosting provider" in the confirmation dialog. If any record is still live, you'll see "The DNS records are still active. Please delete them to proceed".
