The Methods page is where you choose which payment methods your clients can use when they subscribe to your paid plans. It's a Stripe panel embedded in your platform, so your choices are saved to your connected Stripe account, not to Climbo.
Where to Find It
Settings > Methods
Open Settings > Methods, in the Finance group of the sidebar.
Who Can Open It
The whole Finance group is visible to Owners and Admins. Staff and Sales users never see it, and if they open the address directly they're redirected to Settings > Account.
Prerequisites
Methods only appears once your Stripe account is connected and onboarded (see the Connect Stripe article), and it stays grayed out until you've finished your platform onboarding. The whole Settings area is desktop-only: on a phone or small screen you'll see an Available on Desktop Only message.
What the Page Actually Is
A Stripe Panel Inside Your Platform
The page contains only Stripe's own payment method settings for your connected account. There's no Climbo form and nothing to save on the Climbo side. Any change applies to your Stripe account exactly as if you'd made it in Stripe, and Stripe decides which methods it can offer you.
Enabling a Method
Activate the payment methods you want to offer. Once a method is active, you'll see an Enabled badge next to it.
Why an Enabled Method Might Not Appear
Activation Is Not a Guarantee
Switching a method on does not mean it will show up on every payment link, for two reasons.
- Some payment methods are only available to visitors from certain countries. A method you have enabled may simply not be relevant — and therefore not shown — to a client paying from somewhere else.
- Some payment methods aren't supported by Stripe for subscriptions — the recurring monthly or yearly billing your paid plans use — and only work for one-time payments. Enabling one of these won't make it appear on your payment links.
Enable Broadly Anyway
Go ahead and enable whichever methods you like. On each checkout, Stripe only offers the ones that apply to that client and support subscriptions. Enabling the methods most commonly used in the countries you sell into is the practical way to avoid losing a sale over a missing option.
What These Settings Cover, and What They Don't
Your Plan Checkouts
Your paid plans' payment links don't have a fixed list of payment methods: they use whatever your connected Stripe account allows. That makes this page the single place that decides which payment options your clients see at checkout.
Not What You Pay Climbo
This page has no effect on the payments you make to Climbo. Your own platform subscription and your Agency Balance top-ups run through Climbo's Stripe account (the top-up checkout, for instance, accepts cards only) and are covered in the Billing & Invoices article.
Fees Vary by Method
Same Balance, Different Fee
Whatever method a client uses, the money ends up in your Stripe balance the same way. Keep in mind, though, that Stripe's fee varies by payment method, so a sale paid with a less common method may net you slightly less.
